Sync24 - Oomph

Track 8/10, from [Comfortable Void] (Ultimae inre052). Oomph reminds me a lot that scene, in Matrix Reloaded, where all what’s left of humanity dances like it’s gonna be their last night alive in Zion. I would totally put this track on the movie instead, as I really feel like it was made to party deep undeground, hidden from the surface and its inhabitants. After a long dreamlike beginning, where hazy sonic atmospheres fade in and out on ethereal whispers, we finally enter the center of the track, structured around a low tempo and heavy beat. Evoking the density of people dancing in the caves, moving like one unique living being, the strong bass part is quickly joined by several melodic and high-pitched elements. What really enhances the background melody is the coming of reverberated small bells, that act just like the uplifting part of the whole piece, a beacon to follow in order to not get lost.
