Les peintres de Montmartre

Depuis le XIXe siècle, Montmartre a attiré de nombreux artistes-peintres, Van Gogh, Toulouse-Lautrec, Modigliani ou Picasso. Montmartre is a large hill in Paris’s 18th arrondissement. Near the end of the 19th century and at the beginning of the twentieth, during the Belle Époque, many artists lived, worked, or had studios in or around Montmartre, including Amedeo Modigliani, Claude Monet, Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Edgar Degas, Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec, Suzanne Valadon, Piet Mondrian, Pablo Picasso, Camille Pissarro, and Vincent van Gogh. Montmartre is also the setting for several hit films, including Amélie (also known as The Fabulous Destiny of Amélie Poulain).
