VS of dustbin van / litter collection vehicle. A dustbin man empties a bin into the lorry. A sign on the side reads: “Tidier Streets - Please Use The Litter Bins“. CU of mechanism to compact the litter.
The same van is parked next to a pile of burning tyres. The operator is using a hose from the vehicle to put out the fire. CU the operator wearing a very strange looking protective suit.
Shots of the van, bearing the emblem of the City of Portsmouth, driving along spraying the streets with water from sprays on the top. The driver and his mate are wearing protective clothes and gas masks. Possibly planned to clean chemical spills or even gas attacks.
N.B. Item found in Unidentified Gazettes reel. Presumably from 1930s Gazettes.
