Spring expands in cold water = it draws with less force Spring shrinks in warm water = it draws with more force Pulley with small gear has mechanical advantage over pulley with big gear so it “wins“. I’m sure this would also work with cold beer on the left and hot coffee on the right side. But the resulting mixture of both would be an environmental hazard worse than nuclear waste.
