It gained popularity in the early 2010s when YouTubers such as PewDiePie and Markiplier played the game and were surprised at the amount of jumpscares that were in a game created by RPG Maker. PewDiePie’s music videos about the game also gained it lots of popularity in the YouTube Gaming circle and cemented it as one of the most iconic freeware horror games of the 2000s. The quality of the game has been debated, especially in recent years as YouTubers have singled out the game as
