The Beats Go On-Shelly Manne

16mm classroom film from the early 70’s about the history and types of percussion instruments and techniques used to play them. Featuring world class drummer Shelly Manne on the drum set. I apologize for the poor quality, the film itself is quite faded (the reason for the pink coloration) and beat up (many splices with some missing pieces). Additionally, I was attempting to use a very primitive home made “film chain“ to transfer the film onto video. Still, it’s watchable and you can get the basic idea and it’s also cool to see Shelly in action. Just imagine you’re back in Junior High music class .
