This tuning is so classic and sounds great with rock and blues, among other styles like classical music. What we are going to do is break them down each one at a time and we are going to discuss a little bit of theory. In terms of turn arounds you have ascending, where the melody moves up, and descending, where it moves down. Today all 6 of these turnarounds are going to be descending, we will highlight all three types. Your turnaround can either start on the major 3rd, and go major 3rd, minor 3rd, 2nd to root. Option two is 5th, b5th, 4th, major 3rd. Your 3rd option starts at the b7th and goes b7th, 6th, b6th, 5th. Those are the basis, but you can also further harmonize it and we will talk about that as well. The added variety can come in the second bar and how you work to the 5th chord or not, or the rhythm.
