Petros Klampanis Rooftop Stories | ’Pes Mou Mia Lexi’

The third Rooftop Story comes from La Havana, Cuba’s vivid capital. I have always been fascinated by the music and culture of this part of the world. The way that Western and African civilizations merge in Cuban music is truly inspiring. For me, and I know that it may sound somewhat cliché, Cuban music symbolizes the joy of life, a love for dancing and communication, and the equality and dialogue that exists between social groups in this unique society. Cuban music represents the population’s love and respect towards each other and towards their physical environment. The tune I am covering on this Rooftop Story is a well known ’60s Greek song called ’Pes Mou Mia Lexi’ (Tell Me One Word), composed by Manos Hadjidakis, a distinguished Greek composer and visionary.
