Baguazhang Style Jiang Rongqiao

Participants: Mao Ming Chun et al. Jiang Rongqiao (1891-1974) nicknamed Guangwu. From Cangzhou, Hebei Province. Since childhood, with his uncle Deqin and the famous mizongquan master Chen Yushan, he studied the martial art transmitted from Sun Tong, at the same time he was engaged in civil sciences. In 1909 he became an apprentice to Zhang Zhaodong, studied Baguazhang and Xingyiquan. From Li Yusan he studied the “whip of the great teacher“, from a friend of Tang Shilin - Taijiquan, from Li Jinglin - the Wudang sword. In 1920, while working on the railroad, Jiang Rongqiao began teaching martial arts. In 1928 he founded the Association for the Exaltation of the Martial and the Propaganda of the Virtuous in Shanghai and published materials on wushu. In 1928 he became the head of the editorial and publishing department of the Central Goshu Institute in Nanjing.
