For this we had to learn how a 3D particle generator works. Particle generators are the visual equivalent of electronic audio synthesizers: you start with a simple physical model and slowly change up to 25 parameters until something interesting appears. The learning process took a few weeks using the “CC Particle World“ generator that comes standard with Adobe After Effects. Also we had to dig up some long forgotten high school mathematics to remember what sine, cosine and inverse tangent do. While rendering the visual test samples, we started reading introductory texts on string physics and contemporary cosmology. Though these new theories describe fairly well why the universe is what it is, they still don’t explain why “We Fall In Love“. Pixel Idiots can be found at:
