The rise of fascism through liberalism

I never used to credit the sort of Cassandra cry of fascism is rising in Britain and across the western world, but I no longer do, because it’s clear enough to me, that millions would murder democracy at the stake; would murder the designated enemy at the stake, and I never thought I would hear myself saying that. Most of them regard themselves, at least as liberals, as progressives; even as left. Fascism has risen in Britain - not in the bowler hat, and pinstripe suit; not in the brown shirt, but in sneakers and chinos, and baseball caps, with blue ticks. How about that?
