Robert Wilson: “LUTHER dancing with the gods”

With his visionary productions and highly expressive stage imagery, Robert Wilson has been writing theater history for four decades. In celebration of the 500th anniversary of the Reformation, he joins forces with the Rundfunkchor Berlin to create a new project for the Pierre Boulez Saal. LUTHER dancing with the gods—the first scenic production to be seen in the new hall—examines and re-interprets the relationship of words and music, sound and image, past and present, combining them in unexpected ways. Compositions by Bach, Knut Nystedt, and Steve Reich will stand side by side with texts by Martin Luther, the poetry of William Carlos Williams, and verses from the Bible. “LUTHER dancing with the gods“ is a production of the Rundfunkchor Berlin, in collaboration with the Pierre Boulez Saal October 6-12, 2017
