When I was researching for the program, I discovered that when Beethoven wrote Piano Sonata no. 14, which we fondly refer to as Moonlight Sonata, he was inspired by his love and infatuation for a young lady who had brought renewal to his happiness. He wrote about her in letters that he sent to his best friend. Through my research, I found these letters, and was able to read them. I was fascinated to learn all of this about Moonlight Sonata!
