On 1945/08/15, Japan announced unconditional surrender. This marks the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japan of China. However, this war can never be forgotten. In 1937, 8-year-old Xia witnessed the murder of 7 members of her family by Japanese soldiers during the Nanjing Massacre. Thousands fled Nanjing, but those who couldn’t looked for sanctuary in the Safety Zone, where 3 foreigners were in charge.
