The Hills Line, a wonderful Australian model railway
The Hills Line In HO Scale is an insightful look into a unique Australian Model Railway layout built by Peter Michalak, that depicts the rarely modelled broad gauge railways of the state of South Australia.
Originally “Bridgewater“ an exhibition layout depicting the real life railway location on the Adelaide-Melbourne mainline, it has since been retired from the exhibition scene and is now a centrepiece of a much larger home layout that depicts the original broad gauge mainline between the South Australian state capital of Adelaide and the Victorian state border. This video details the process and methodology of modelling a unique Australian prototype and the challenges that entail such as scratchbuilding steam locomotives, railcars and buildings which aren’t otherwise available ready-to-run or even as a cottage industry kit.
