Sergei begins touchingly courting the kind and trusting Lyuda, and they begin a beautiful romance. However, soon, a newcomer appears in the group – spectacular girl Katya, and Sergei begins to flirt with her. Learning of this, Lyuda accuses Sergei of betrayal. Stepan, secretly in love with Lyuda, begins to help her with her studies, showing affection. They spend more and more time together.
