Tribute to Kamila Valieva’s Free Program: “Truman Sleeps“

What Kamila showed in her extraordinary performance of “Truman Sleeps“ was reliving the trauma of the Olympic experience while transcending the pain and suffering with incredible courage, power, and vulnerability... I recall TS, where the performance ended in tears and my aching heart. With subsequent performances, the sadness faded and turned to anger. From anger was born a smile, so that in the last performance we had the opportunity to watch, the hood was no longer needed. I thank Kamila for this valuable lesson she taught me. Once again, I thank her for still being able to inspire us with her wonderful and beautiful skating despite the odds.
