Analysis: What do Grant Shapps’ comments mean for the UK’s involvement in Ukraine?

In an interview for The Sunday Telegraph, Defence Secretary Grant Shapps said he had held talks with army leaders about deploying British troops within Ukraine for the first time for a military training programme. The UK has led the West in terms of providing military training to Ukrainian personnel, with more than 20,000 Ukrainians having completed such training to date.
