Performance: Desplante by Eduardo Guerrero

Experience an awe-inspiring performance from one of Flamenco’s greatest contemporary stars, Eduardo Guerrero, in his Canadian debut. Known for dancing with brutal fury and style, Guerrero never loses the magesterial elegance that is his hallmark. In this award-winning show, Guerrero extends the limits of Flamenco with his contemporary style and deeply personal interpretations, resulting in Flamenco dance like you’ve never seen it before. DESPLANTE also features the captivating vocals of Manuel Soto Contreras and the evocative guitar technique of Javier Ibañez. DESPLANTE was part of the Museum’s fifth annual Duende: Flamenco Festival, and part of our 2019/20 Performing Arts season, Listening to Each Other, which paid tribute to the role of the performative arts in connecting communities, preserving culture, and spurring social change.
