Italo disco (also spelled italo-disco) is a subgenre of disco music that originated in the late 1970s. and lasted until the late 1980s. Italo house and Italo dance were born from this style. Italo Disco is a genre currently growing around the world now sung in almost all languages. The entry of synthesizers and other electronic effects in Disco Music produced as a result electronic dance music, with styles such as Hi-NRG in the United States and Space Disco, as a first great subgenre of Eurodisco, in Europe. The general feeling of the public was that of being in front of a sound completely new, both for the sonority of the new musical technology and for the lighting effects of the discotheques of the time.
