Item title reads - Test for Olympics. British Games take place at White City, London. M/S start of the women’s 100 metres sprint, Dorothy Hyman and Jennifer Smart lead the field. M/S as Hyman takes a clear lead and wins the race. C/U Dorothy afterwards. M/S start of the men’s 100 metres. Peter Radford is running nearest camera, he goes into the lead from M. Agostini and breaks the tape. C/U Peter. M/S Mary Bignal running towards camera for the long jump, she lands recording a jump of 20 feet 3 3/4 inches. M/S start of the men’s 800 metres. M/S crowd. Various shots of runners including Brian Hewson. M/S as the runners enter the finishing straight with J. Wenk slightly in the lead from P. Kilford and D. I. B. Smith of New Zealand. Smith then takes the lead with Wenk keeping second place. Smith finishes just in front. C/U Smith after race. M/S as women’s 80 metres hurdles gets underway. Various shots as Mary Bignal goes into the lead followed by B. Moore. M/S as Mary wins. C/U Mary afterwards.
