Making a Five String Fretless Bass - Custom Neck Thru

This bass will be shipped to a customer in a few days time so we have a few more days to play with it :D. Body is our spring bass design and the head is something new. Neck is made from wenge wood with white oak veneer. Body is American walnut and white oak combination. Finger board is made from black ebony and oak veneer strip. Markings and bass clef are milled and filled with white epoxy. Nut is made from whitened bone. Glue we used for neck thru block is “Patex“ pvac and “titebond“ for fingerboard. For the finish on this one, we used few coats of “timberguard“ teak oil and bees wax. For the first time we used our new laser engraver and we love it! Hardware that we used in this build is: Schaller Bass BM tuners, 3D-5 bridge, S-locks strap buttons. D’Addario ETW92-5 strings. for electronics we used Fishman fluence 5-string Bass soapbar pickups combined with Schaller under bridge piezzo with Fishman powerchip preamp.
