Mario Lanza- RARE 1952 Dicitencello vuie (Falvo)

Mario Lanza (1921-1959) “Dicitencello vuie“ (Fusco-Falvo), recorded April 11, 1952 for The Mario Lanza Show, with studio orchestra conducted by Constantine Callinicos. Lanza’s performance of Rodolfo Falvo’s “Dicitencello vuie“ is urgent, passionate, and endlessly moving. It easily surpasses all other recorded versions of the song that I’ve heard, including Lanza’s own ’58 studio effort. This is singing of volcanic intensity- one of the great, GREAT Neapolitan song recordings.
