A crowd of military men and civilians watch as General Dwight ’Ike’ Eisenhower makes a speech to the people of Paris. He talks of how 2 weeks earlier, French and Allied forces to deliver the ’coup de grace’ to the last remaining element of the enemy. A week before the men of the French Forces of the Interior had risen in their wrath and gone onto the streets to drive out the hated invader. He says the glory of having freed the capital belongs to Frenchmen. He talks of the plaque he is presenting today is a temporary one, soon to be replaced by one of enduring metal and they hope it will recall the day of Paris’ liberation.
An American (?) officer reads French translation of speech. A loud plane flies overhead while the man is speaking and people turn to look.
The plaque is handed over by Eisenhower.
