H9PRO - Use Vintage Lenses With GoPro Hero9!

They may not be as perfect as modern lenses but many old movie camera lenses from the 40’s, 50’s and 60’s are warm, sharp and full of character. With a modified GoPro camera from Back-Bone you can mount C-Mount lenses from old 8mm and 16mm Bolex cameras! For this video we collected a selection of 1950’s D-Mount lenses used on 8mm Bolex movies camera and mounted them to our H9PRO modified Hero9 Black. Using a simple D-Mount adapter you can mount them directly to the camera! 8mm lenses were designed for a film size slightly smaller than the GoPro sensor, so in some cases they will vignette slightly, or they won’t be as sharp at the outer edges. You can crop the footage slightly yo get rid of any vignetting, or use the camera menus to zoom in a little. In this video we didn’t crop the footage at all so the edges of some of the shots might not be as crisp. We think that adds to the character of these beautiful lenses. Lenses used:
