Twice The Men On Milk (1961)

Titles read: “BLACKPOOL - TWICE THE MEN ON MILK“. Morecambe, Lancashire. General view of crowds on the promenade at Morecambe to watch the start of the final stage of the Cycle Tour of Britain. Cyclists prepare their bikes for the trek to Blackpool. One man has his thigh massaged. Billy Holmes, the race leader, is seen with the Mayor of Morecambe. The race starts off and we see several shots of the cyclists riding along the promenade, through residential area, down hills. Section of footage is speeded up so it looks like the cyclists are breaking the speed limit. General view looking across Blackpool beach to the tower. The cyclists race for the finishing line. Billy Holmes crosses in 6th position. He puts on the winner’s yellow jersey and turns around so we can see on the back are the words “BCF Tour of Britain 1961 (Milk For Stamina) Race Winner“. Crowds look on. Holmes stands with the Mayor of Blackpool and receives the winner’s laurel wreath and an air kiss from the Dairy Queen. Fi
