Building a Front Door for My Off Grid Log Cabin, Ep26

The first frost of the season has arrived so I am focusing on doors, windows and exterior finishes to keep the cold and the rodents out. Since I don’t have time right now to fully carve the front door of the cabin, I design and build a heavy pine and walnut door with a 3“ thick wood insert that I can pull out of the door to carve inside the warm cabin as I have time over the winter. A friend visits to hunt and explore the wilderness around the cabin with me and as a result, I don’t make much progress on the building this week. It’s such an incredible time of year to be out in the woods so I’m happy to take time of off building, gardening and harvesting for a few days.
