Demonstrations In Seoul - . Freed By Rhee - Air Raid On Inchon (1953)

Seoul, Korea. Angry South Koreans stage a protest against the terms of the proposed truce between the United Nations and the Communists. A truce seemed imminent until South Korean President Syngman Rhee demanded unification of all Korea and the withdrawal of Chinese communists. 25,000 anti-red prisoners of war are freed by ROK guards on orders from Syngman Rhee. The biggest air raid of the war sends towers of flame rolling hundreds of feet over Inchon, the port city of Seoul. A fuel dump becomes a sea of searing fire and exploding gas as troops try to keep the flames from spreading. Oil drums are bounced 100 feet in the air by terrific explosions.
