Downing Street faced questions over whether Rishi Sunak had blocked a plan to cut net migration last year. Immigration minister Robert Jenrick told the Commons: “My plan would have been brought to the House before last Christmas if I could have done.” Asked whether Mr Sunak had blocked that plan, the Prime Minister’s official spokesman said: “I don’t know what specifically he is referring to.
