Walking fish

Read here for the story of this walking fish and what it may say about how our own ancestors climbed ashore: Polypterus senegalus walking across a sandy substrate. Fish use their fins and body in combination to move across a terrestrial substrate. Fins are planted one after the other to lift the head and anterior body and the tail and body are used to push the fish forward over the planted fin. Played back in realtime. Credit: E.M.
