Battletoads & Double Dragon (SNES) Playthrough - NintendoComplete

A playthrough of Tradewest’s 1993 beat’ em up game for the Super Nintendo, Battletoads & Double Dragon: The Ultimate Team. Played through as Jimmy. The original NES version of B&DD was quite an impressive feat for the NES’s hardware, and this is, more or less, and upgraded version of the same game. It doesn’t look anywhere near as good as Battletoads in Battlemaniacs - a closer comparison would be the original Battletoads port on the Genesis, but the higher color depth and enhanced 3D effects do look pretty nice. The soundtrack is a big step up, with Rare’s typical high-quality shining through. The controls are also nice and snappy - it feels just like Battletoads, and that’s certainly not a bad thing. The game is oddly easy though - considering how insanely difficult the other games in the series are (and Rare’s overall reputation for making such games), B&DD is a pretty quick play. The game becomes much more difficult while playing as the Toads than as the twins, but even then, once you figure out the combo-timings, it’s still pretty cake. Fun game, though, for sure, and if you want to play with a buddy who might not be a gaming pro, this is a game that you both might stand a chance at finishing without cheats! :) ____ No cheats were used during the recording of this video.
