Bee Gees - Closer Than Close (Maurice on lead vocals!) (Live-HQ)

Can somebody tell me why Maurice Gibb was not given more opportunity to sing lead on some of their songs? His voice is great! Here’s a chance to hear him solo. EDIT: LukeShoveller has answered my question perfectly. See his comments. Recorded at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas in 1997.
