Designed as a sub-brand of Hyundai, the Ioniq moniker also applies to a flood of upcoming EV models, but the 2022 5 debuted first. It features an 800-volt architecture that allows for impressive charging speeds, and we estimate it will have a range of between 258 and 290 miles. Available with rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, the EV ute develops between 225 and 320 horsepower. Its eco-friendly interior includes a technology-focused dashboard, reclining front seats with footrests, and generous passenger space.
What’s new for 2022?
The Ioniq 5 marks the start of Hyundai’s all-new all-electric Ioniq sub-brand, which the company says will debut 23 battery-electric vehicles by 2025.
