I’ve uploaded this song before but with another video without lyrics. John Hewitt, a southern composer, wrote this song in 1864 under the pen name of Eugene Raymond. Hewitt’s other songs included ’All Quiet Along the Potomac,’ and ’The Young Volunteer.’ Special thanks to Dianne Faucette for some of the beautiful photos in this video!
