Suzi Quatro & Chris Norman ~ Stumblin’ In 1979 Pop Purrfection Version

Susan Kay Quattrocchi chose Suzi Quatro for her stage name and was born June 3, 1950 in Detroit, Michigan. Her father Art, worked for General Motors and her mother Helen was a housewife looking after Arlene, Patti and Michael for a total of four kids. Patti joined Fanny, a groundbreaking all female rock group that gained national attention, Michael became a progressive rocker using his keyboard skills and Arlene became the mother of actress Sherilyn Fenn. The first time she saw Elvis on TV she was six and was so impressed with him that she decided to pursue music citing Billie Holiday as an inspiration. She could already play the drums for her father’s Art Quatro Trio a jazz ensemble. She was signed to Mickie Most’s RAK Records in 1971 and had success in Europe with it. Most introduced her to Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman who were experiencing success in the glam rock arena with Sweet. Her career blossomed overseas but still had to catch the attention of the American public.
