Director - Mikhail Kalatozov Synopsis - A forest fire traps a geological expedition in a remote area of Siberia on a mission to find diamonds. My take - Letter Never Sent is chock full of some of the finest B&W cinematography I’ve ever seen, and the camerawork on display is truly mesmerizing. Kalatozov and his cinematographer were next level - I’m in awe of how some of their shots were even achieved. One of the best man vs. nature movies.
