FSB operation targets 134 illegal gun manufacturers

Russia’s FSB has identified and detained 134 people involved in the illegal production of firearms during a two-month operation spanning 48 regions. 28 underground workshops were uncovered during the operation, working on restoration and modernization of firearms for their sale on the black market. As a result of the operation, almost 600 illegal firearms were seized, including machine guns, submachine guns, rifles, carbines and shotguns, as well as handguns. Additionally, 11 grenade launchers and flamethrowers, 45 anti-tank and anti-personnel mines, more than 30 kg of explosives and over 80,000 rounds of ammunition were discovered.
