The Beatles - Real Love - 1967 Version [ AI cover from the creator of Now And Then 1964 ]

A re-imagining of The Beatles Anthology reunion classic, “Real Love,“ performed in the style of the Sgt. Pepper’s/Magical Mystery Tour 1967 era. This recording contains no samples of other recordings. The music and vocals were performed and recorded by a real live human, and then the lead vocals I sang were then run through A.I. filters to replicate the tones of Paul, John, and George’s voices. ( Watch a video of my recording process here: ) One of the requests I’ve repeatedly received in response to my “What If The Beatles recorded Now And Then in 1964“ video ( ) was for 1960s versions of the other two “reunion“ Beatles songs, Free As A Bird and Real Love. I know Jeff Lynne’s production splits some Beatlemanics, but I’m a die hard ELO and Jeff fan, and have always loved those recordings, so I didn’t immediately have an idea how to approach them with anything fresh. A couple weeks ago though, I finally had an idea for Real Love that both seemed exciting to tackle from a recording standpoint, and also seemed to fit an appropriate era where I could see it sitting pretty seamlessly alongside other songs from that year. A 1967 “Summer Of Love“ interpretation of Real Love. And even more inspiring (and a bit nerve-racking) would be to try to attempt something completely different from the Now And Then 1964 convincing George Martin orchestral arrangement, with just a few Spitfire BBC Symphony ( ) plug-ins in my home studio. I’m no George Martin, but I gave it my best shot, and ended up really happy with the results. I also really took my time with this one. For Now And Then, I recorded it basically in a day, with a few tweaks over the weekend. This one, I spent the last two weeks fine-tuning every track to try to get as “Beatlesy“ as possible. I really tried to mimic John, Paul, and George’s vocal with my own voice the best I could, line-by-line, before I fed it into Voicify, and I was really impressed with how much better a product the A.I. shot out on the other end. The robotic sounds I worked around on the Now And Then vocals really were hugely minimized, and I was able to pick the best takes, mostly the same way I would comp my own vocal tracks. Anyway, I know people seem to be curious about the whole process of how I make these, so if enough people are interested, let me know in the comments and maybe I’ll put together a “Making Of” video for this one, as I did for Now And Then (watch that here: ) In the meantime, here’s my humble little attempt at another fun “What If” cover, written by John Lennon, originally performed by John, Paul, George, and Ringo, this version re-imagined and performed completely by myself, with a little assist from some Voicify A.I. filters on my vocals (once again all instruments and vocals were recorded by me, and then John, Paul, and George modeling was added at the finish.)
