I would like to thank very much my supervisor Prof. Paul Barker from the University of Auckland. His patience and great perseverance is still so much appreciated. He took me through a master’s course in experimental nuclear physics at the AURAII laboratory. My personal world view is so much the greater for having learnt theory and then performing experiments. This kept me well aware as to what Physics really looks like. Nuclear reactions and particle Physics are counts, statistics and moving needles. The rest is retired Head of Physics; Prof. Dennis Brown told us he used to attend lectures with Dirac while they both were students. The Professors would use Dirac’s answers as their model answers to assignments.
