Volunteerism -- best platform for personal and professional development: Tuan Nguyen at TEDxUOttawa

Ask not where life can take you -- ask where you can take life! Tuan Nguyen, a philanthropist and entrepreneur, began his life with a simple goal of always making a positive difference in people’s lives. Surviving death during his escape after the fall of Viet Nam in 1975, he sees the world from a lens of gratitude and has been the foundation for all his hopes, dreams, and vision. His stories demonstrates how volunteerism is the best platform for professional and personal development. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
