Azov Battalion (Ukrainian: Батальйон «Азов») is a volunteer battalion of territorial defense of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine that is based in Mariupol (i.e. Azov Sea littoral region). The formation was established during the pro-Russian unrest in Ukraine initiating multiple separatist movements in southern and eastern regions of Ukraine. The formation is temporarily based in Berdyansk. The battalion is commanded by the Social-National Assembly.
