Snippets From “Folly To Be Wise“ (1931)

Chorus girls do a dance on stage. The new Piccadilly Theatre Review “Folly to be Wise“ in London. Mary Eaton dances an acrobatic ballet sequence. Nelson Keys makes a lightening change in “he who gets sacked!“ - actor seen backstage putting on a wig and attending to his make-up and costume. He is seen “in character“ pulling faces. An acrobatic dance is performed with male and female dancers “in tableaux“ posing behind. Lovely set. Some comedy business ensues (Cicely Courtneidge being lifted above a man’s head then kind of struggling as if wanting to be put down etc.) She is spun around and around and when put back on the ground, staggers around as if very dizzy. C/U of Cicely posing in a comical fashion. Note: “Folly to be Wise“ not listed in “The Footlights Flickered“ - date unknown. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
