How to Draw and Paint a Lighthouse. Line and Wash Watercolor. Peter Sheeler

My original plan was to paint a house on a cliff, but as I developed the drawing it became a Lighthouse. You can tell by the pauses in my drawing that I had to think about perspective lines when looking upwards at the building. They’re not perfect, but I think I came close :) I have been asked why I so often work from imagination instead of using reference photos. I’m inspired by ideas that pop into my head rather than looking at photos. Although I do use photos sometimes I find it less creative and less inspiring. The joy of working from imagination is that even I don’t know exactly what the painting will look like until It’s done *** Now selling my paintings on Ebay *** Link: “Classical almost in F Tranquility“ by Kevin MacLeod () Licensed under Creative Commons: By Attribution 3.0 License MATERIALS: PEN: A Pigma Micron 005 nib
