#EVNNE #이븐 #Un_SEEN 지난 9월, ‘나를 대중이 원하는 타겟으로 만들겠다’는 포부를 가지고 데뷔한 EVNNE, 그때의 힘찬 도약을 이어가 한층 더 강렬한 모습으로 돌아와 입지를 다진다. ‘아름답지 않은 내면이 드러나도 개의치 않아’ 데뷔 앨범 [Target: ME]에서 EVNNE은 ‘와일드 하지만 세상을 주체적으로 변화시키는 매력적인 악동’ 으로서 상처 따위 모르는 듯 그저 상황을 즐기는 패기 넘치는 모습을 중점으로 보여주었다. 하지만, 누구나 겉으로 드러나지 않는 뒷이야기와 내면의 상처를 갖고 있다. 두 번째 미니앨범 앨범명 [Un: SEEN]에서 유추할 수 있듯, ‘보여지는 (seen)’, 그리고 ‘보여지지 않은 (unseen)’ EVNNE의 다양한 모습을 담아낸다. EVNNE의 ‘당당하게 드러나는 거친 RASCAL‘의 모습과, ’내면에 감춰진 vulnerable’ 한 모습은 앨범의 두 컨셉에서 직접적으로 드러난다. 미워할 수 없는 악동의 모습을 담아낸 RASCAL 컨셉에서는 폐자동차 주변에서 여유롭게 자세를 취하거나, 얼굴에 상처와 낙서가 있는 포트레이트를 통해 어딘가 고장 나고, 상처를 입었지만 그런 거친 모습을 당당히 드러내는 악동의 모습을 담아낸다. 서브 컨셉 vulnerable에서는 어떠한 일에도 굴하지 않고 강하기만 한 줄 알았던 EVNNE 내면의 서정적인 모습을 마치 90년대 홍콩 영화의 한 장면처럼 보여준다. 나른한 분위기 속 어딘가 슬프고 공허해 보이는 EVNNE의 반전 모습은 마치 악동들이 가진 개개인의 서사를 표현하는 것 같이 보인다. 뮤직비디오에서는 악동인 EVNNE의 서사를 더 구체화 한다. 처음엔 그저 난동을 피우는 무리로 보이나, 알고 보면 세상을 구하는 반전의 스토리를 가진 소년들의 이야기를 담아낸다. 통일감을 가져야 하는, ‘다름’이 있으면 안되는 기숙사에서 특별한 개성을 가진 EVNNE이 계속해서 타인들과 대치하는 모습만 보았을 때에는 그저 치기 어리고 장난끼 많은 악동들의 행동처럼 보인다. 그러나 알고보면 차갑게 얼어붙은 세계를 녹여 다시 활기를 불어넣는, 마냥 짓궂은 악당이 아닌 비하인드 서사가 있는 캐릭터를 구현한다. 더욱 강해지고 단단해진 EVNNE, 그들은 장난기 많은 악동에서 한 층 더 성숙해지는 과정에서 겪은 시련을 다방면으로 보여준다. 그러나 진취적으로 세상을 바꾸며 앞으로 나아가겠다는 EVNNE의 의지는, 데뷔부터 계속해서 이어지고 있다. EVNNE returns to bring out an even more powerful side to them following their dynamic leap last September that showed off their goal to ‘make themselves into the target the public wants’ with their debut. ‘I Don’t Care Even If My Ugly Inner Side is Revealed’ Through their debut album [Target: ME], EVNNE focused on creating a daring image for themselves as ‘wild, yet charming rascals who proactively changed the world’ that seemed uncaring for their injuries, choosing to simply enjoying the moment. However, everyone has an untold story and scars across their inner world. As hinted at by the album title [Un: SEEN], both the ‘seen’ and ‘unseen’ sides of EVNNE will be revealed through the second mini-album EVNNE’s two faces of ‘rowdy RASCALS confidently revealing themselves’ and their ‘vulnerable sides hidden inside’ are directly shown through the album’s two concepts. The main concept portrays RASCALS who just can’t be hated, through imagery of pained, yet tough troublemakers captured by their unrestrained figures contrasting nearby scrapped cars, as well as depictions of portraits with wounds and graffiti across the face. The sub-concept ‘vulnerable’ pays homage to the 90’s Hong Kong films as EVNNE reveals their more sentimental inner side underneath their tough exterior that seemed nigh unbreakable. EVNNE’s somewhat somber and void air amidst a dreamy atmosphere contrasts their image as if to express each RASCAL’s individual story. In the music video, the story of EVNNE as RASCALs is fleshed out even more. Although they may appear to be nothing but a rowdy bunch at first glance, the boys reveal a twist in the story as they end
