Ode to Vivian - Patrick Watson • Video by Yoann Bourgeois

One minute thirty. This is the duration of the piece composed by @patrickwatsonofficial, in the form of an ode, to the photographer Vivian Maier. Without words, this piece is as sublime as it is simple. It has everything of a “ritournelle“ : that kind of childish music that protects against chaos. Patrick recently asked me to create a short film - here it is. The ghosts of two lovers have not quite deserted this place. Silently, they tirelessly continue the unreal song of their futile gestures. If their movements are sometimes reversible, it is because they make themselves believe that they can play with time. And maybe they are right... Children’s games have always been a source of inspiration for me. Here you may recognize the “wakuwa“, this toy that was invented by Walter Kourt Walss in 1932. I want to thank all my team who accompanies me in each adventure. Director : Yoann Bourgeois Director of photography : Julien Lambert Choreography /
