Hantaï on Gustav Leonhardt | Netherlands Bach Society
“I feel a certain nostalgia, a sadness, now that I see this house again without its soul.“ Harpsichordist Pierre Hantaï talks about his memories of Gustav Leonhardt. Leonhardt was one of the pioneers of early music in the Netherlands. As a teacher and performer, he was a source of inspiration to many harpsichord players around the world. Our recording of the third ’French’ Suite in B minor was made in the Bartolotti House, Leonhardt’s former residence.
Recorded for the project All of Bach on December 10th 2016 at the Bartolotti House, Amsterdam. If you want to help us complete All of Bach, please subscribe to our channel and consider donating
