Tokyo 2020: Japan considers postponing Olympics as Australia, Canada pull out over COVID-19 fears

Japan has conceded that postponing the Olympic Games could be an option, given the global COVID-19 pandemic. Tokyo and the International Olympic Council (IOC) are discussing how to proceed if the games are delayed, but they have insisted that they will not be cancelled. The Tokyo committee aims to have the scenarios ready in four weeks and will accept the IOC’s decision. Australia and Canada have decided to pull out of the 2020 Games.
