14 Year Old JOHN WILLIAMS plays CONCERTANTE QUARTET (1955) by John Duarte

This recording by a very young John Williams dates from around 1955. These non commercial acetate discs were in the possession of the late composer John Duarte, who made a cassette copy of them sometime around 1975. Concertante Quartet was written for guitar and string trio. Sorry about the pitch fluctuations due to a nearly 50 year old cassette. In spite of the “amateur sound“ the balance between the guitar and strings is quite natural and the guitar part is clear throughout.
