X-Files, “Kill Switch“ Intro, The Strange Death of a Computer Genius

The murderous AI achieves two things with a clever ruse -- 1) The death of its creator, who was trying to destroy it. 2) Arousing the attention of Muddy and Scudder, who unwittingly help the AI execute it’s sinister plan. As Spock said in ST:TMP, “V-Ger must join with its creator.“ The concept is the same in this episode of the X-Files. IMO, this was William Gibson’s best work, far more dramatic and suspenseful than any of his books.
