Long Range from the Middle of the Pack: NoCo Precision Rifle Match, March 2023

Hello! And welcome to the start of this... Series? Maybe? It remains to be seen if there will be more of these, or if my editing will ever improve, but it was a fun project that I got a lot of value out of, so we’ll see! This is my full match performance from the March 2023 monthly long range precision match at the Pawnee Sportsman’s Center in northern Colorado. This 1-day match is one of the 5 monthly matches that make up the WyCo Precision Rifle League, a local league in southern Wyoming/ northern Colorado, that has seriously started to make a name for itself, and has some incredibly challenging venues. This range in particular is known for extremely variable winds, as low as 5mph, and as high as 40mph, that can and do fishtail around the full 360°, although primarily tend to come from the 12:00-2:00 directions in my experience. This match pairs those tricky winds with extended ranges, and several skylined or hilltop targets that will really test your confidence in your wind calls. There are a wide variety of props and targets available for the MDs to mix up the course of fire, which they do regularly. Of the 32 precision matches I have shot as of this recording, 15 of them have been the NoCo PRM, and this was the very first match I ever shot, back in January of 2021. It remains one of my favorite matches out of the series, although that is an extremely close race, as all of the matches in the league are top-tier challenges.
